Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created by writer-director Joss Whedon. The series follows the adventures of Buffy Anne Summers played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Buffy is the latest in a line of young women chosen by fate in every generation to battle against vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. Like previous slayers, Buffy is helped by a Watcher, who guides and trains her. Buffy is aided by the "Scooby Gang." including Giles, Dawn, Faith, Buffy, Willow and Xander, who are a group of friends attending Sunnydale High in a town build on top of a Hellmouth. Angel is portrayed by David Boreanaz.in Joss Whedon's television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Liam Angel is transformed into a destructive vampire Angelus by Darla. Later Angelus has his human soul restored and with it a conscience for his past deeds. Angel and Buffy fell in love. When they sleep together for the first time, Angel loses his soul, becoming Angelus. Buffy is forced to kill him, to save the world, even though Willow has just ensouled him. After he returns from Hell, he and Buffy still love each other, and attempt a relationship... he feels that he and Buffy share a "forever love." Spike (a.k.a. William "the Bloody"), is played by James Marsters in Joss Whedon's cult television series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Spike is changed into a vampire by Drusilla with whom he falls in love. Along with Drusilla, Angelus aka Angel and Darla, Spike terrorized the world for almost twenty years. Spike first arrives in Sunnydale High in the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in the episode "School Hard", accompanied by Drusilla. Spike and Dru are cast as punk vampires to contrast with the religiosity of the Master and the Order of Aurelius.
