The Marvel comics Fantastic Four team comprise Mister Fantastic - Reed Richards, The Invisible Woman Sue Storm, The Human Torch - Johnny Storm, and The Thing - Ben Grimm. Their opponent is Doctor Doom - Victor von Doom. The first Fantastic Four movie released tells the tale of how the characters acquired their superhero powers whilst observing clouds of cosmic energy on Victor von Doom's space station. The Fantastic four coming to terms with their powers, public reaction and their fight against the newly empowered Doctor Doom.

The second Fantastic Four movie - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, features Doctor Doom again as the villain along with the Silver Surfer. The vast destructive planet-eating entity Galactus also makes its appearance, but as a planet-sized cloud and dust storm.
