The original House of the Dead (or HotD to the initiated) was perhaps one of the most influential arcade games of all time, and helped make Sega into even more of a cultural icon at the height of their business fame. Pitting the gamer against zombies, creations of a twisted geneticist Dr. Curien, with only a light gun and the occasional health pack. And four games later the series is still going strong, as is attested by the myriad of merchandise available to go with this, greatest of shoot 'em ups.
