UK band Klaxons, 2007 Mercury prize winners, have been described variously as "psychedelic progressive, pop" and "acid-rave sci-fi punk-funk" and often referred to as "New Rave". Klaxons' music is often supernatural and magic themed with references from writers such as Aleister Crowley, William Burroughs, Thomas Pynchon and Richard Brautigan. The Klaxons debut album Myths of the Near Future was released in 2007. The Klaxons have toured extensively selling out in Europe, Japan, and Australia , headlined the 2007 NME Indie Rave Tour, and have appeared at music festivals such as Glastonbury, T in the Park, Oxegen, the O2 Wireless Festival and Reading and Leeds.
