Where the Wild Things, the famous novel by Maurice Sendak, catalogues the mental adventures of Max, a young child 'sent to his room with no supper' for causing havok in his house. At just 10 lines long, this classic of American literature is beautifully illustrated, and is being adapted into a film by Spike Jonze. It won the Caldecott Medal in 1964.
